Application Support Consultant

We are an experienced Application Support Analyst/Consultant with candidate with experience in the financial services industry to join in a full-time, permanent role as an application support consultant with additional responsibilities.

Our focus is as a middleware provider specialising in financial message transformation and routing. Our clients are large financial institutions who use our in house developed software to facilitate communication with financial networks and settlement systems. The functionality provisioned is broad in scope and ranges from ISO message transformation through to bespoke business processing flows and corporate action processing.

What skills are required?

• Previous experience in a customer facing application support role is and
exposure to the financial sector.
• The role requires flexibility, analytical and problem solving skills as well as a willingness to appreciate and learn our clients’ business needs and would suit a person who enjoys working with and supporting customers.

What is the role?
The role is varied but focuses on being the primary point of contact for the support of our software.
The candidate will support the deployment, configuration and operation of our software. Issues reported can range from questions on installation of software packages, configuration once deployed and how to perform various business functions. The majority of questions are raised by our customer’s application support teams and development staff. Issues raised can be quick to resolve or take a number of days.

Because the technical and business environments and the infrastructure of our clients invariably differ from one to the next there are always new challenges and the job can involve experience with a wide range of operating systems, databases and interfaces. Although the majority of issues raised are likely to focus on two particular software packages there will be the opportunity to become familiar with all products and in turn the financial messages, networks and settlement systems they communicate via and with.

In addition to first line support the role will involve testing of the software, writing of documentation and implementation projects. We are also expecting to expand the support role to include administration of new support desk software application.
